Karen Ganjon, Director of Minority Achievement and Intervention Programs for Carroll County Public Schools, was selected for recognition by the Maryland State Advisory Council on Gifted and Talented Education.

Ganjon was recognized in the category of State Leadership in Gifted Education for her leadership in gifted and talented education at the state level and significant contributions to improving programs and services for gifted and talented students in Maryland.

The Carroll County Arts Council just ended its annual Festival of Wreaths on Sunday afternoon.   221 unique creations were displayed and offered through a silent auction during the past week.  Nearly $22,000 was during the event.

Carroll Springs School and the Hailey's Wish Foundation invite members of the community to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new playground at the school on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. All are invited to share in the celebration. Light refreshments will be served inside the school after the ceremony. There will a variety of free children's activities, treats, and fun for all.
