Rally Alert: Maryland Taxpayers to March on Annapolis

Bumped to top headline as a public service.

TAX LESS / SPEND LESS

“Can you hear us now? They surely will after this!

Come one and all!

Here is your golden opportunity, if we all stand together!”

Rally and visit legislators in Annapolis

When:  Wed, Feb 29

Realtor rally 9:15 to 11 am.  Let’s join them.  Numbers count.

Badge

Center-right groups, individuals, etc., can come for the rally, but, and this is important, go to legislators’ offices, especially Democrats.  They are the most likely to vote for more spending and higher taxes.  See them; if not, tell the aides your preferences “Tax Less/Spend Less,” etc.  At 1 pm, go to hallways outside House Appropriations and Ways & Means, or Senate Budget & Tax.  Be polite, but don’t be afraid to talk with each other.  Legislators will hear the buzz of the crowd.  Sit in on the hearings, wear your badges.  There should be plenty of Tax Less/Spend Less badges.  You will be noticed.

If you really want to make the point to legislators in Annapolis that their tax and spending proposals are very bad, then Wednesday, February 29, is your day.

The House Appropriations and Ways & Means committees will jointly begin hearings on the BRFA (Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2012, HB 87) on the following day.

The realtors will be holding a big rally…really big in Lawyers Mall, then many will be free to converge on the halls and into the offices in both House and Senate.  Realtors will focus on the proposed itemized deduction reductions, especially the mortgage interest deduction phase out.

There will be perhaps 1300 realtors present.  Many of them agree with the Tax Less/Spend Less principles that are hurting Marylanders.

Numbers of people mean a lot.  They are influential, even intimidating.  So…let’s help them, add to the numbers, and help the Tax Less / Spend Less cause by showing up and going to offices and making the point:  Tax Less / Spend Less.  At 1 pm, move over to the hallway between the two committees, Appropriations and Ways & Means to reiterate by your presence what you want:.  Tax Less / Spend Less.

This will be a fun day!  Similar to millions of Tea Partiers rallying in Washington, DC.

Bring a lunch.

Park:  Naval Academy Stadium, Rowe Blvd, take shuttle to State House.  If you car pool, drop off group.  Then park at stadium ($5 plus $1 each way for shuttle). Other parking areas include Gotts Garage and the garage on Duke of Gloucester, between there and the Main Street Shops.  Otherwise, there is street parking, which can be more frustrating.

Attachment:  Cut out Badge (Hope you love it!) and wear at the event.
