New Windsor Bank Robber Arrested

Westminster -- Ryan Robert Roberts aged 31 from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania was arrested last night by the Baltimore City Police Department for his involvement in several area bank robberies.  Baltimore Police contacted Sheriff’s Detectives to confirm the details after they received a tip from a viewer who recognized Roberts in a local television news broadcast reporting on the New Windsor Bank Robbery.

On Monday August 30 at 10:16 am, Roberts entered the New Windsor State Bank at 213 Main Street wearing a white baseball cap, white t-shirt, light colored shorts with a white stripe, and presented the cashier with a note demanding money.  Roberts fled the bank on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.  No one was injured during the robbery.  Afterwards, Sheriff’s Detectives began working with Baltimore County Police in their investigation of a similar robbery that had occurred at the First Mariner Bank in the 9800 block of York Road, Cockeysville on August 28.

After speaking with Sheriff’s investigators, Baltimore Police located and arrested Roberts after a brief foot pursuit in the Franklin Avenue area of Baltimore.  Roberts was then taken by investigators to the Baltimore County Detention Center where he is being held on $500,000 bond for charges related to the August 28 robbery in Cockeysville.  Charges by Carroll County Sheriff’s Detectives related to the August 30 robbery of the New Windsor State Bank are pending.
